me: i’m sorry, do i know you? you want me to stop using xxxx.com - although you registed the name without the .com?
them: yes, i registered the name with the state.
me: so although #1 i purchased the domain two months prior to you registering the name (without the .com), #2 i registered with the city, dba xxxx.com one week prior to you and #3 after only three days of me using xxxx.com and stroking the site it’s showing number one using a generic search term, while your name nor your business is nowhere to be found on the nets, you want ME to stop using xxxx.com?

biz owners - protect yourself as much as you can. read the different state rules on registering biz names, the different requirements when registering as a ‘dba’ and a ‘llc’ to make sure you’re okay. i did. i am.
